Date: Tuesday, August 26, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Art Room, Matsudo Daiichi Junior High School
A workshop was held for the Matsudo Daiichi Junior High School Art Club, led by artist Antonio Uve, who is staying in Matsudo as part of a short-stay program. Since the 2023 academic year, the Matsudo Daiichi Junior High School Art Club and PARADISE AIR have continued their exchange through workshops, exhibition visits, and talk events as part of the club’s activities.
This workshop took place in the art room of Junior High School, with Madrid-based illustrator Antonio Uve as the instructor. With a background in advertising and graphic design, Uve is known for his style of depicting quirky and humorous characters using simple forms and vivid colors.
Using a drawing method based on Uve’s creative process, participants each created imaginary characters through paper cutouts. Through the activity of expanding their ideas from combinations of shapes and colors, the students were introduced to new ways of thinking and creating. At the end, they imagined profiles for their completed characters and presented them along with their works, sharing the stories and inspirations behind their creations.
In addition to the art club students, other participants included Leon Keiditsch, a Berlin-based musician and resident artist, as well as chikuteku, an illustrator based in Matsudo. It was an opportunity for participants to enjoy and learn from each other through creative expression and multilingual communication from diverse perspectives.
