Helena Van Driessche
2026.09 - 2026.10

We’re excited to announce the first event of our new residency program, RePAIR Program, launched this fall!
PARADISE HOUR, an open studio featuring two artists currently in residence, will take place at two venues: PARADISE AIR and Okayama Seikaten, a neighborhood flower shop just a short walk away.
Rosa Sittig-Bell is a New York-based artist. During her residency, Rosa visited love hotels across the Kanto region for research, creating various works exploring themes of fantasy and extinction. In collaboration with Bobby Chengreiman, she will present an installation using cardboard, paper, and secondhand Japanese toys. Drawing on packing and wrapping techniques, the work explores the relationships between work, play, and fantasy. The installation will be presented in one of PARADISE AIR’s unique rooms.
Helena Van Driessche is an Antwerp-based artist whose paintings draw inspiration from traditional painting, mythology, and everyday landscapes. During her residency, she was influenced by the colors, compositions, and intricate details of ukiyo-e prints and Utagawa Kuniyoshi’s illustrations of “The Water Margin”. For this exhibition, she will present paintings inspired by traditional Japanese art in the unique setting of Okayama Seikaten. This is PARADISE AIR’s very first collaboration with Okayama Seikaten.
