Born in 1987, Fukuoka, Japan. Yasue Kuroda graduated Tama Art University’s Art & Media Course of Department of Information Design in 2010.
Using discarded clothing mainly as a material, Yasue creates stuffed animals, dolls, and sculptures that crosses over multiple concepts of three-dimensional art forms. Her work activities are wide-range, including a three-dimensional work series of imaginary creatures called “Mokemokemono,” installations using discarded clothing, and artworks for music videos.
Her major activities and awards include a residency at Hongti Art Center, Busan, Korea (2020), Encouragement Award, Rokko Meets Art Walk 2019, Hyogo, Japan (2019), Tanegashima Space Art Festival 2019, Tanegashima, Japan (2019), SICF18 Jury’s Ryoe Kurisu Award (2017), and providing artwork for Aimer’s “Haru wa Iku” music video (theme song for the movie “Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. lost butterfly”) (2019, 2020).
