Vishwa Shroff

Vishwa Shroff completed her BA(Fine) in Painting from M.S University of Baroda, India and MA Fine Arts from University of Central England. Shroff’s drawings and site-specific projects have been presented in solo and curated group shows in India, Japan, USA and the UK and was the recipient of the UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries for Artists 2011. Her work interrogates spatial and narrative possibilities of fragmented, transitional spaces and the transferring attentions with which objects within are perceived. The sequential chronicling of such fragmented spaces and object arrangements inform the positioning of these drawn objects, applying their iconographic and utilitarian potential to construct ontological and spatial experiences, arranging drawings and actual objects to collectively employ a theatrical vocabulary propagative of narrative. Vishwa lives and works between Tokyo, Japan and Vadodara, India.
