Alexander Cruz Gonzalez / Marimbist, Pianist.

One of the most recognized Mexcian Marimba player for his great skill and musicality of his generation in Mexico and also is walking as one of the best vibraphonist in the world.

He is currently Vibraphone professor of the department of Jazz and popular music in the University of Science and Arts of Chiapas (UNICACH) in Chiapas and a member of several musical projects such as the Red Bandana, Sweet Swing, Interplay, among others.

He is the winner of the V national competition of Marimbist, alos the V International Festival of Marimbistas in the year 2005. He obtained the second place in the international competition of Dance and Afro Music celebrated in emerald, Ecuador.
He had performed with renowned marimba and jazz musicians such as Dave Samuels, Anders Astrand, Aly Keita and David Friedman.

He is a member of Na’rimbo, which is a musical ensemble group that is currently recognized as the most important Jazz ensemble in Mexico that fuses the traditional marimba with contemporary genres.
He has participated in major music festivals in North America, Central America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He has directed various groups, such as the “Marimba Lira Tuxtepecana” of Oaxaca, with whom he has been part of the “Pacmyc” Support Program for Municipal and Community Cultures for two consecutive years. He Organized the First International festival of Marimbistas in the city of Tuxtepec, Oaxaca.
