Choi Hakyoon

I am currently exploring sculpture and painting to delve into transcendent themes such as death, the cosmos, creation, and extinction. My creative process often begins with conceptualizing intangible ideas that transcend physical observation, understood through individual intuition. To explore the relationship between transcendent elements, inexplicable phenomena, and my existence, I incorporate themes like the universe, time, religion, and consciousness into my work. I am intrigued by the coexistence and communication of contrasting elements like life and death, existence and non-existence, black and white, light and darkness, present in everything around us. Utilizing my own symbols, I reinterpret the communicating elements of the universe, aiming to narrate the connectivity with my present existence.
