LONGSTAY Program 2024-25 Residency Reporting Talk

In the LONGSTAY Program 2024–25, two artists—Kiral (from Belgium) and Wantanee Siripattananuntakul (from Thailand)—undertook a three-month residency.

On July 21 and 22, we held a two-day program consisting of exhibitions across three venues and a talk event reflecting on the residency. Local residents who had supported the artists’ research also joined us.

During the talk event, the artists spoke about their activities with PARADISE AIR team, their experiences living in Matsudo, and their future plans, accompanied by documentary photographs. In the Q&A session, audience members—including local residents—shared their impressions of the artists, creating a warm atmosphere in which we could look back on the three-month period together.

The LONGSTAY Program 2024–25, which marks its 11th edition since PARADISE AIR was founded in 2013, was intentionally launched without a fixed theme. This openness allowed a chain of collaborations to emerge and expand—not only between the artists and coordinators, but also with the people of Matsudo, their nearest neighbors, and local artists.

Through countless experiences, we were able to truly realize the value and potential of the artist-in-residence project.
