Artist Ryuzo Nakazato was invited to hold a workshop and exhibition of Ryuzo’s works related to “dreams” at the Matsudo City Cultural Hall in collaboration with the Matsudo City Social Education Division.

First, Ryuzo introduced a wide range of past video works and recent projects, “Invoking the Nushi of Shibuya River,” which was carried out in Shibuya in recent years. The audience was also able to view the video works introduced in the exhibition as well as works by “YUMEGIWA,” an artist collective organized by Ryuzo, while relaxing, and was offered energy drinks for good dreams.

In the latter half of the workshop, participants were given paper and pens to draw and share their own stories about imaginary creatures (such as yokai, spirits, UMA, imaginary friends, etc.). The participants enjoyed the “imagination exercise” together in a friendly atmosphere, sharing stories of imaginary creatures that they wished existed and mysterious events they had experienced in the past.
