Workshop “Rolling Motherland”

“Hand and Face,” a LONGSTAY program artist for 2023, collaborated with members of the art club of Matsudo City Daiichi Junior High School to hold a workshop related to communication. This workshop was later presented as a video work.
We would like to thank the members of the art club for their participation in the workshop!

Artist Introduction 

Hand and Face produces sensory workshops to experiment with various ‘Communication Sense’. This program works with 10 middle school students to expand the function of language by crossing native and foreign languages with. This program senses and communicates the way you read, write, and speak with your body and develops various communication methodologies.

 

About Workshop

This is a workshop where you can experience the language of various countries using your body’s senses and movements.

 

Workshop Flow

1. Students sit in a circle and look at each other’s backs.
2. A student chooses Korean/Chinese/English/Japanese words.
3. The student who picked the word writes the word on the back of the next person.
4. Pass the words to the back in order.
5. The student who received the word last says the word and explains the feeling of the word.
