PARADISE AIR 10th Anniversary

At the end of May this year, PARADISE AIR marks its 10th anniversary!
PARADISE AIR opened its doors to the first residency artist as an artist-in-residence at the end of May 2013.

Residency Artists: 428 groups / 636 persons
Residency Applications: 5157 applicants

Over the past 10 years, PARADISE AIR encountered numerous artists that we could not have expected at first. We have been able to continue the artist-in-residence program for ten years, despite the ups and downs, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and funding problems. This is thanks to all of you who have supported us and shown interest in our programs. On this milestone, we would like to thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

 

Now that free travel has reopened in Japan, international artists have returned to PARADISE AIR. The number of applications for residencies, which dropped to zero in the early days of Covid-19, is increasing daily. And for the first time in two years, the LONGSTAY Program is scheduled to be held this year.
Besides, the management members who have relocated overseas are also exploring derivative projects of PARADISE AIR, such as “台北翼(Taipei Wing)” and “मुंबई विंग (Mumbai Wing)” in their locations.

PARADISE AIR, the transit point of “One Stay, One Art”, is heading into its next era, organically combining the sustainable operation of an artist-in-residence program and new challenges. We plan to gradually expand our ideas to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We hope to see you soon again in Matsudo!
