Matsudo based artist Tsuyoshi Anzai has taken trash he picked up on the street on a particular day and set it up as outdoor sculptures in the exact same location and in the exact same condition throughout the city for two days only.

Artist’s Message

One day, I found some objects left on the side of the road. They seemed to be in a state of decay, but as a result of several coincidences, perhaps they existed only for that moment. There was something deeply moving about them, so I ended up taking them home with me. Obviously man-made, these objects were made by someone, acquired, and placed in the city, where they remained for a while. Perhaps someone who put them there would return to retrieve them, but I took them home without asking. I think I will try to put them there again. I would like to put it in the same place, in the same way, as if I were recreating that time. Someone might take them home just as I did, or the objects might leave for somewhere else. That’s fine. I have only held them back for a very short time.
