Isao Kanemaki

PARADISE AIR staff has always shared with other staff members what they have seen, heard, and felt after visiting other artist-in-residence programs and art facilities. The “See the world from Artist in Residence” event series is open to anyone who hopes to participate and is interested in hearing about their experiences.
In December 2022, PARADISE AIR educator Isao Kanamaki stayed for a month at SÍM Residency in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.
He is usually involved in managing PARADISE AIR as a staff member, but he will talk about what he experienced there as an artist.
This time will also talk about the local situation, how to apply for the residency, and other information that will be helpful for those who want to take on the challenge of staying.
He also interviewed the staff at the residence during his stay.
He will also talk about the differences between the residences in Japan and those in the future, as well as other topics related to the management of the artist-in-residence.
Now that the ban on international travel has been lifted, this is a sharing event for artists who are preparing to spread their wings to artist residencies overseas, and for those who are involved in the management of residencies. Please feel free to join us.
