Chapter 1: Into the Subconscious｜Sophy

A one-night exhibition of new works by Taiwanese artist Sophy will be held at PARADISE AIR.

Inspired by the mysterious world she saw in her dreams, Sophy has been exploring the subconscious of the human mind by creating drawings with a unique touch. This time, she will exhibit drawings and illustration works created during her residency in Matsudo, utilizing several rooms of PARADISE AIR. Since PARADISE AIR is a former hotel it’s a perfect place to present unique undefined peculiar atmospheres in dreaming.

She is currently working on a long series of works based on her memory of her dreams. What kind of stories will she visualize? Please enjoy a mysterious night by entering the dream world, and sharing your dream experiences with others.

Artist’s Message

Currently making a long-length work, the story is about the adventure of telling dreams changing the perspective and mentality of looking at the world. How the world of reality and the world in dreams are separated and connected in the same time.

The works not only recorded dreams’s creativity also includes humorous dialogue brings out conceptual perspectives on consciousness and existence. Many answers can to be found in our subconscious, this work to present insights from the dream world, hoping to resonate with audiences to explore and connect inner self.
