Wendy, the founder of UUendy Lau, is a multidisciplinary designer and artist with a strong passion for experimental art and critical designs. Most of her projects centre on ‘animals and nature’, a universal subject permeating all cultures, languages and lifestyles. The notion discloses a distinctive culture in Hong Kong where people quest for a utopian lifestyle with freedom and the co-existence of wildlife in the real nature. The concept also corresponds with her design principle highlighting ‘connection’, ‘life’ and ‘empowerment’ and that leads to a re-consideration of our presence and relationship with the surrounding contexts and matters.
Wendy never limits the medium of her creations and her works cover various disciplines of design to communicate with the audience including product (fashion and lifestyle), graphic & illustration, art installation, live-performance and workshop. She receives her Masters in Critical Design at Goldsmiths, University of London, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Design (Industrial & Product) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design.
