Ann Mirjam Vaikla (1990, Tallinn) is the director of NART – Narva Art Residency that has a focus on community building in Narva city on a border of European Union and Russia, through creative interactions of arts, architecture and education. She is a member of the collective Vaikla Studio and a co-founder of the emerging Kordon Residency in Estonia. Her past experiences include curatorial internship programme in New York at Storefront for Art and Architecture gallery (2016-17), as well as working at the Byrd Hoffman Foundation and at the Invisible Dog Art Center in Brooklyn. She has done artist-in-residency programmes at The Watermill Center (2015, 2016), Arts Letters and Numbers (2017), Materia Prima Art Residency (2018). She graduated her studies in Scenography and Performing Arts at the Norwegian Theatre Academy / Østfold University College in 2015.
